Non-Metro Area Housing Presentation

The public is invited to attend a presentation on the final recommendations of the Johnson County non-metro housing study

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in rooms 203 B-C of the Johnson County Health and Human Services (HHS) Building at 855 S. Dubuque St. in Iowa City.

CommunityScale will share formal remarks twice, at 5:45 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m., with informal discussion in between the presentations. Free parking is available in the HHS building public lot.

The assessment provides key findings and policy recommendations for the unincorporated area and six small cities of Hills, Lone Tree, Oxford, Shueyville, Solon and Swisher. The study also addresses concerns related to manufactured home parks in the county. The recommendations are based on more than 35 hours of engagement with nearly 120 residents, stakeholders, elected officials and local government staff. In addition, 90 surveys were completed.

CommunityScale will also present its final recommendations at 9 a.m. on Nov. 12, to the Johnson County Board of Supervisors during their work session in Room 301 on the third floor of the HHS building. A link to the broadcast and the presentation (in multiple languages) will be accessible at least 24 hours before the meeting at the Johnson County meeting portal.

The final presentation will also be posted at the Johnson County Housing Study dashboard, which provides online interactive tools.
