Johnson County Refuse Inc provides weekly curbside garbage
and recycling pickup.
Pickup will be on Tuesday.
Carts need to be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on
the day of pick up.
Johnson County
Refuse Inc uses a garbage (black lid) & recyling (yellow lid) cart system.
When setting carts out one cart needs to be placed on each side of driveway. Must have 16 feet of clearance above carts and 5 feet between objects (such as another cart, vehicles parked on street, trees or mailboxes).
Garbage/Recylcing Guide for Carts:
Garbage (black lids):
- Lids need to be closed.
- One additional bag up to 35 gallon with 40# weight limit on top of can with tag.
Tags may be purchased at Casey's, BP, City Hall for $3.00/piece.
Recycling (yellow lids):
- Acceptable Items: paper, plastics, glass, cans (see above attachment for details)
- Please no: hazardous materials, automotive fluids, garden chemicals, paint products, cleaners, soiled paper, diapers, garbage, plastic bags & film, plastic or fiber feed sacks, syrofoam, tupperware, rubber hoses, electronics, clothing, rope, wood, spent or live ammunition, medical needles or waste
- Important:
- Do not place any items in a bag. Itmes must be free from each other.
- Rinse all food & beverage containers.
- Flatten or cut cardboard boxes.
- Empty containers only.
